Hi dude, I just bought a MIM and I wanna buy the 57/62 pickups. When you changed the default pickups for the 57/62 ones, did you notice a big or a small upgrade/change? Do you recomend them? Greetings
Its a big difference. the 57/62s have less output and sound "thinner". But along with that, they sound clearer when using distortion. There's a lot more sweetness, chime, and they just sound more "vintage".
They are some of the brighter pickups that Fender makes. the bridge pickup can get a little harsh. If you want something with more bass, look into the custom shop '54 set. Those sound a little stronger.
I like them and wouldn't mind purchasing them again.
Thanks very much. try if you can to play a few as 85 to 90% of them sound and feel "right", but there's always that one chance if you get the first one you see, or buy one on the net, you might get a dud. That can happen with any manufacturer though
All in all, i wish you the best am I think you'll be pleased.
