i have driven both civic hybrid and the prius hybrid, both car have slightly different hybrid system. Where the prius gives u the extra fuel consumption because of the motor engine. when u are doing below 30mph, it does not use any fuel at all, where in the civic, the motor engine seems not as useful as the prius, thats why the fuel consumption is not as good as the prius, but if u like to drive a car, the civic handles really great, the prius is not a great handling car, ill go for the civic

How much did your Suburban cost? Was it enough to pay off your new Civic?

What year is your honda civic hybrid in this video? It looks like a 2004 or 2005, I'm looking at 2001-2005 models for my 1st car. Plan on traveling a lot also. It was between this with 487 on a tank and Nissan Altima 2002-2006 getting 414 on a tank. I'm looking for something with a lot of miles on a tank, cheap, reliable and that will last me about 4-5 years.

My record is 72.5 mpg over 78 miles in Washington State (In April 2007) That was before my HCH2 screwed up, now it gets about 34 mpg. See the truth at Hondalemon com

Hmm, did you get the software update on your Civic Hybrid?
-
@thecarexpert18 who doesn't brother.

@Hellbrawler They put the 1.4L in Europe to compensate for higher speed limits, and the new Prius has the 1.8L in the USA. For the rest of us in the USA, we get the little biddy 1.3L

Bull bull bull. Any car can do that in a tenth of a mile. The best I ever got was 72.9 MPG over 79 miles, and I was being gentler to that accelerator pedal than a hot virgin 18 yr old.

lol so do u like the new car leather smell?
-
Love my 2009. Averaging 54 right now. Only complaint is my new car leather smell has decreased a bit.
Is this the 1.4 litre engine? Cause i have heard that in the US they put the 1.8 in the civic hybrid. I have my own Civic hybrid 1.4, it is not fast, but it is really fast enough if you dont use it for drag races! Very economic too!

I've averaged 47.5 in mine on the last 5000 miles, alternating between tanks with averages in the 50's to driving aggressively trying to see how the hell the EPA got a 42 average. Love this car!

I will see what a cross country trip will do for my average... my tanks are about 53 mpg so far...love it when I can get real high mpgs though!

How did the cross country trip do? And where is you go. I wanted to drive to Detroit from Los Angeles but, backed out I figured it would take 4-6 tanks depending on the highways, weather and AC usage. I've done all highway once with my Civic hybrid and got 57.8mpg.

with a fully loaded car, AC going and doing 80mph, we averaged 45mpg which is not bad for the trip, load, speed and AC with outside temp at 115F most of the way... love the car!
