With the amount of sharing between not only the individual Australian road safety agencies, but also between NZ and Australia, I too have wondered that. I guess they just use it for free, I can't imagine them wanting money for such a worthy cause.

Yeah. The COI need to start scaring people again. You could also try to find a British equivalent of horribly maimed crash survivor Jacqui Saburido to drive home the human cost of drink driving.

There is supposedly a law in the UK which actually prevents road safety campaigners from showing real victims with real injuries.

Basically, there are rules on taste and decency in broadcasting that all channels in the UK have to adhere to, and an advert with dead bodies would definitely not pass those rules.

This was about 94/95. The 'bloody idiot' thing went out around 96. I used to walk around the pub when my Dad was there yelling 'if ya drink and drive, you're a bloody idiot!" Pissed my Dad off, I was a pain.

They get into a crash that could, if not did kill them, and what you notice is that some dude didn't wash his hands.

More likely, the faucet that he would have grabbed is dirtier than his dick would be if he, you know, did what people usually do and took a shower that day.

I wouldn't say it was drawn out. Don't forget that the ad is putting across an important safety message, therefore the end sequence in the hospital would be deemed important.
