It did not survive always. Most was reconstructed. But also much survived. Come to Germany we have plenty of this. And so do our neighbours. It is a vibrating and very deep going experience. Culture means to not only accept one´s faults in history but also to maintain and care for its beauties. In respect to our ancestors. In awe for their achievements. For our own joy and for the generations to come.

you're absolutely right, Vivaldi wrote it originally...then Bach came along and made it better :-D

How did this survive WW2? It's surreal, a 15th Century city, 17th Century Music, XXth Century audience and it WORKS.
