Just keep in mind neither symbicort nor advair will cure your asthma. It will only provide temporary relief like a typical medicine does. I have however found symbicort to act quicker than advair does. To deal with your asthma the best thing is do 1) 45 minutes cardio everyday 2) Eat lots of vegetables and fish oils 3) Do controlled breathing exercise 30 minutes a day.

Symbicort works more quickly - as fast as salbutamol (albuterol).

Advair (called Seretide in most markets) is fine though.

Symbicort SMART (Symbicort Maintenance And Reliever Therapy) is where you can use Symbicort for prevention AND relief of occasional asthma symptoms. I don't think Symbicort is indicated for us in this way in the US though.

Using Symbicort SMART vs Advair gives similar asthma control but with a lower steroid load. GSK Advair prices are an astonishing rip-off in the US!

Advair works great for me. Started on it over a month ago and haven't needed my albuterol inhaler since.

I tried both and I found that Advair is better than symbicort. Advair improves my quality of life. Advair has easier device which it is discus compared to turbuhaler. Thank You Advair.

i don't have asthma tho, i have really bad coughs sometimes that last for months and i use symbicort. it really helps. advair has no effect on me.
