SUMMARY:
The Prophecy 3: The Ascent is the conclusion to The Prophecy trilogy. As the war in Heaven and on Earth rages on, Pyriel, the Angel of Genocide, arises with the intention of destroying all humankind.
The only one who can stop him is now eighteen year old Danyael, a Nephilim born of an Angel and a human woman.
Unaware of his true purpose, Danyael is shot by an assassin while preaching a "reality check" against God, only to wake up in the morgue.
Zophael, an Archangel whose allegiance is questionable, seeks to prevent Danyael from fulfilling his destiny. While Gabriel, a now human fallen angel, acts as Danyael's guardian.
Danyael briefly reunites with his girlfriend, Maggie, but sends her away in fear for her life. After escaping Zophael, Danyael leaves in search of Pyriel's final battleground.
Meanwhile Zophael manages to convince Maggie that Danyael is the one in danger, and enlists her help in tracking him down.
They catch up with him at a Native American reservation where Zophael purposely crashes the car, badly injuring Maggie, and halting Danyael's progress.
Zophael is killed in the ensuing fight, but now Danyael must confront Pyriel weakened by his wounds. Gabriel watches over Maggie, who is on the verge of death, until Danyael returns. With the war in Heaven seemingly over, Gabriel has redeemed himself and is once again an Archangel. He saves Maggie before ascending.

@movieaddict19 Ah, see, I love the 2nd and the 3rd but struggle with the first. There's no denying Eric Stoltz makes a fabulous angel though.

@allaragallagher The First was MORE Straight Horror with SOME SLIGHT Comedic Moments at The Beginning and towards The End which The Fourth and Fifth Films which I HAVE NOT seen AS OF YET TRIED TO RECAPTURE AND MANY FEEL FAILED ! The Second and Third Films were MORE OR LESS An Even Mix of Horror , Romance , Action and Comedy !

@1993MovieMan The fourth and fifth movies hardly feel like part of the trilogy. I've seen them - and there are some good aspects of them - but for the most part only the first three are really worth watching.

@DrMabuse2006 Actually , Michael made him a human for two years and by the time the Film begins , the two years are up and he`s already learned his lesson about having empathy for humans so he has his angelic powers back but doesn`t really use them until the end so he won`t get power-hungry and jealous again .

@allaragallagher I mean , Christopher Walken , Viggo Mortenson , Eric Stoltz , Elias Koteas , Russel Wong , Jennifer Beals , Eric Roberts , Brad Dourif AND THE LIST GOES ON ! Pretty much The ONLY Name in The Fourth and Fifth Films was Jason Scott Lee !

@allaragallagher Yeah , though I HAVEN`T seen them The Fourth and Fifth Films DO SEEM kinda pointless ! I mean , The Main Draw of The Franchise was Christopher Walken as Gabriel ! AFTER Gabe learned his lesson and returned to Heaven , THERE`S NOT REALLY MUCH YOU CAN DO ! Also , what made The First Three Films SO AWESOME was The Fact they created An Ambitious Storyline with An Apocalyptic Scope and TOP-NOTCH Actors and Actresses !

Angels who ARE JEALOUS OF HUMANS whom they see as Savage " Monkeys " UNWORTHY OF GOD`S LOVE AND WANNA KILL `EM ALL SO GOD WILL LOVE THEM BEST AGAIN ( which since The FIRST Prophecy Film HAD BEEN USED BILLIONS OF TIMES ) and Lucifer returning under A Different Name and played by A Different Actor along with Simon played by...
