  • Also you also cannont see most galaxies (except for the obvious ones like Andromeda and ) since of the low surface brightness due to the size of the glaxaxy, the light is spread over a very large area and will appear far dimmer than you expect it to be.

  • Go to the astronomics website (just type in "astronomics" in google) and then click on the main website. Then click "How to pick a telescope" in the top left. Next click the "Juggling P's" link near the top. Finally click the "What can you expect to see in a telescope" link in the main article.

  • This is because the light and colours that are bouncing off the gas and dust from the stars inside is just too dim for you to see with your own eyes. You are mostly only able too see hints of colors with longer exposure astrophotography and far larger telescopes (16 in and above). I am 14 years old and have a Celestron 6SE and am able to see more structure inside the Orion Nebular (it is a great scope!) but still no colours.
