Mom opossum with babies exploring enclosure

Mom opossum that was mauled by a dog is now well enough to be moved to an outdoor enclosure with her babies. She promptly decided the 'upstairs' nest was perfect. This was the first time the babies had gotten to ride around on mom, made a little trickier by mom still missing big patches of fur from her injuries. One little fellow didn't get the hang of it right away and got left behind - you can hear him making "pssh" calls and mom answering with lip-smacking sounds to help him locate her.

Yikes! I could hear a dog barking in the background. I hope that wasn't the dog that mauled her! Poor thing! Can possums get PTSD? So nice of you to give the little straggler a helping hand. =)

@HereByDefault My neighbor decided to work on his motorcycle while I was filming, which my dog found very bark-worthy (she's a collie mix, loves to bark, and can be heard in the background of most of my videos filmed at my home). Mom opossum didn't seem too bothered by either one, although I could see her ears twitching a bit at the motorcycle. She was originally rescued from an urban area, so I'm guessing she's pretty used to human-related sounds like this.

Are opossums marsupials? The little ones are climbing to the mom's belly pouch... cool but disturbing at the same time :P
