It's kind of odd listening to this after listening to nothing but the version by Charice. Gotta say that though I really like Charice's version I like this one even more. ^^

This version flows smoother, but doesn't have the strong emotion that New World brings. In the New World, you can feel the emotions behind it, but the flowing is somewhat coarse. It really depends on what you prefer, better flow or stronger emotions.
Now if you really UNDERSTAND what they're saying, then you should know the reason why the song was created how it should be. No matter what, both versions are amazing in their own respective regions.

Didn't direct reply because I'm not here to argue.
But if people come on here saying that this song is better, then it is better for those individuals. If it weren't why would you still come and listen?

No. Pretty sure this one is better.
I don't think most of the people watching this are exposed more to Japanese. It's the entirety of this song, the desperation in her voice... The lyrics actually having slightly more meaning, and relating much more to the game than the other.
Granted, both are beautiful and in the end it's up to the preference of the individual. But I can tell you it's probably NOT because of the language.

Serah!!!

WOW surprisingly I like both the English and Japanese version

@d1jal sad thing you forgot to mention is that half the viewers on this vid have never played the game :P
I love both versions! ^_^
Some people just have an innate preference for Japanese, which has to do with either loving the refreshing sound of a different language, or simply being exposed to it more. This song could have been sung by the exact same person in both languages (like Hikari from KH), but some will always prefer Japanese over English. This doesn't mean that one is better than the other. They are both incredibly beautiful songs. It's that simple. New World X Yakusoku no Basho :)

OMFG! No matter how many times you bash whichever version, it won't take away the fact that both versions are good. Just shut up already!
