Since it pains me how this is utterly brilliant series seems to receive this few recognition, I shall upload a few scenes to YouTube to promote it. Also because this site is highly lacking in this regard. This is an excerpt pieces together from a few scenes of episode 12 in which d'Éon de Beaumont engages in fencing with Alexander Vorontsov.

Le Chevalier d'Éon is an anime based loosely on a few historical figures, most prominently the titular French secret agent, and in general the 18th century during the reign of Louis XV. It takes place in France, Russia and England (and for a single episode the Free Imperial City of Cologne).
