Carnaval 2002 - Aveiro e Canas de Senhorim

My brother visited us in Portugal in 2002 together with our mother, bringing his video camera with him, and we brought them to see the carnival in Aveiro first and then we went to Canas de Senhorim, not so far from Viseu, a village where they traditionally have some great parades which is more typical for Portugal, while the carnival in Aveiro is more inspired from Brazil. But Canas was definitely more fun! It was a warm day for February and the streets were crowded and as you can see, children, adults and older people are all together, having fun. I just love this people!
PS: The video is converted from a VHS-tape, thus the quality. The MiniDV is lost, alas. My brother filmed. I have edited.

Vejo que Aveiro gasta dinheiro em coisas realmente importantes!

Têm um estádio que vale milhões (que disputa a 2a e quase 2aB), uns meios de comunicação medíocres, uma poluição respeitável....mas têm um Carnaval que faz inveja a um príncipe de Burkina Faso...fantástico!
