7 Sailing the Hobie Adventure Islander with nets installed

Sailing with the new Hobie nets installed. Good wind and wave action. Broke a rudder pin a short time earlier. Nets do very well, quality construction and well thought out!

how much of a problem are those rudder pins? i've read the longest thread i've ever seen on the hobie website about them what's your experience? i'm very interested in the boat. does it matter the year of manufacture as to rudder pin problem? cheers, erik

Not really a problem...everyone is just looking for perfection! I have had 3 or 4 break in high winds and beam reaching. If I really want to keep it from happening I use a 3/8 ss bolt that has been cut down. Just something you need to be aware of but not worry about. The boat rocks!

i n going to buy one, is it eazy to replace if rudder pin break? or Ai have any other problem,is it a good kayak?

@mubbbu i wonder that too. on larger catamarans and trimarans, you can sit/lounge on the trampolines... i wonder if the adventure island can handle that?
