This is the final version of Don't Think Dirty that was actually showed at the film event. After I gave the seminary teachers the original version, they approached me a week before the film festival and told me I had to remove the rose petals from the scenes because it alluded to American Beauty, which was rated 'R' and against Mormon standards. Obviously this got rid of the most clever part of the whole movie. But I did it anyway. I had done a really poor job editing in the first place, and the re-shoots (with actresses in different clothes) made it even worse.

So I turn in the edited version, and the day before one of the teachers comes up to me again and tells me that the magazine photos are too racy for them to show. I'm a bit frustrated, since I work too and I brought it home. I got out a copy of National Geographic and re-filmed that shot, replacing the gorgeous models with an Afghani woman in a fully-covered burqa.

The students who saw the movie in seminary had no idea what was going on. The teachers thought it was one of the funniest things they'd ever seen.

Made in 2002 in Bountiful and Farmington, Utah.

  • Definitely go see the Director's Cut to understand about the lady in the National Geographic magazine.

  • It is a sin to have the thoughs, and to act upon that natural feeling.

But never-the-less, that feeling is of a natural man, of which we are to overcome. And who said that, my Bishop, my branch president, and my Stake President ;)

  • Yeah, sweetheart, I think I know what we believe. And who said it? My bishop.

  • Who said it was a sin to have a natural feeling.

Our beleifs are that we are suppose to overcome the natural man.

  • A child like mentality, to a degree yes.

As in putting your trust in your father, your heavenly father.
