It's so easy to listen to them... you don't need to see anything, their chemistry is just amazing.

@davidesk Yes, I can imagine her easily as Rebecca and not as the drab, mousey second Mrs. deW. Not that I liked Joan Fontaine in the part either.

@KeyToMyRelease I couldn't agree more. It's divine.

I believe Vivien Leigh has the loveliest voice on the planet.

Very true, David. Leigh wanted the role and her husband wanted the role for her. Selznik, it is my understanding, did not want her for that role as he thought it would be such a come down after GWTW, and perhaps he was right as most anything would have been. They were both amazing actors. I always found it fateful that she played Blanche Dubois on the stage in London in "Streetcar" and in the film as it was like what Scarlett might have been, post 70 years. It was like GWTW Pt 2.....en futurum.
This is so good. Olivier actually wanted his wife Vivien Leigh to play opposite him in the movie and was very angry that the role went to Joan Fontaine who said Olivier was very distant to her to the point of rudeness which actually helped their performances. Of course, Vivien Leigh was too beautiful to play the Second Mrs. de Winter. In fact, she is who I think of when I imagine the Rebecca character.
