The ending got cut off but I was gonna say that there are 2 1/4" holes there that line up with the holes in the flange of the carb to hold the intake manifold on.

  • that looks like a 6.5hp engine roughly. What power does it develop?

  • I think she's about 5. Came off a snowblower. I dun't know what it is now though, intercooler probably adds alot :P

  • Intercooling the air does nothing unless it is hotter than ambient air... you probably lost a little power by adding such a huge restriction to the air inlet.

  • Sorry, but your wrong on both accounts. The colder the air the better. No matter how cold it gets as long as your engine is up to operating temprature. As long as the air is cooler entering the engine than what it was entering the intercooler it will run more efficiantly. Also, the inlet to the carb has no such restriction you talk of, since I measured the inlet of the carb (not the venturi) and that was 3/4 of an inch. I used all 1 inch hose and all piping and pipe nipples are 3/4 outer (1/2)

  • (2/2) sorry, I mean inner diamiter, there is no restriction there. Also, since the air is flowing over the fins and not through the tubes of the intercooler there is o restriction. It is very clear since you don't get water from the tap that the air goes over the fins. So until you learn about what you are talking about since it is very clear you don't. I would quit being the youtube mechanic since your just hiding behind the computer.

  • So, until you know what your talking about, you'll only get schooled by people like me when you try telling people the wrong thig, because it may have worked for you before, but unfortunatly you ran into someone who knows more than you and that someone is me.

  • i did this a while back. used my swimming pool as the water supply. found my 2kw genset made 2.1kw. the size and complexity makes it self cancelling. forced induction generally benefits from intake charge cooling more, but anything will show a gain when fed cooler air.

  • nice
