@TheRichthoffen the name is "Sotirios" Skanziklas Σωτήριος Σκανζίκλας propably. Thanks a lot. i love the movie and the history facts and when i heard that there was a greek guy among the 50 i wanted to know.

@azagdoth His name was F/O (Flying Officer) Sortiros Skanziklas and during the 1944 'Great Escape' was travelling with amongst a group of twelve Jimmy James. They hid out for a few days on a freezing plateux near Hirshebirge (now Jelenia Gora in Poland) They were recaptured at Hirshebirge West train station. I can prattle on all night about this. If you would really like to know more then just contact me. Sadly the Gestapo shot Sortiros Skanziklas in the back of the neck in a field.
