NYU's Institute of Fine Arts is engaged in a long-term archaeological research program to investigate the history of north Abydos, an area the ancient Egyptians viewed as having an extraordinary significance. Archaeologists have been using Shared Shelf to upload and catalog images directly from the Abydos site to the cloud, where their content can be backed-up and preserved. Collections can be cataloged, searched, and managed collaboratively, so everyone involved in the project can work together in one shared platform.
