  • I do agree with you, but I still sympathize with the cashiers as you can find yourself forced to take a shitty job like that even though you're qualified for a "good job". It's especially frustrating when you have to ring up some twat secretary with an attitude because her lunch is almost over and it's so clear that you are way more qualified than her and yet the dumb bitch has a job that pays her a lot more to sit on her fat ass while you ring up people at Kmart. Rants are fun!

  • You know what though? In today's economy a job is a job! If you want to get anywhere in life you better accept a job as a job and aspire for more. People wouldn't have to worry about their jobs if they did a good one. Because this is proving more and more that you don't need them. Soon, I'm sure you'll find a store that will not have an employee just to put stuff on the shelves...and that's it.

  • I'm a cashier! And I am always polite to my customers and try to talk to them, make polite conversation etc.

Majority of the customers are much ruder than us.

  • Sure you can show it in one minute. Greet someone with a smile, ask them how they are. If they are not interested...you don't need to continue with the questions. You would be surprised how many people do notice that stuff too. Never work for Starbucks because your job depends on how much you interact with customers and actually try to remember their names and such. I have always greeted people with a smile and a conversation. Even the grumpiest can become nice.

  • Some people can be really rude and some just like to argue it seems. But whatever, their probs, not mine. What's funny is that people answer 'good' when I don't even ask how they are (it's a pointless question to ask someone you'll never see again), shows how much people pay attention to the cashier, but hey, most people have other things on their mind and wanna get out. Customers who want to say for a chat, great, you're welcome. A human can be more dynamic like that.

  • Nice video!

I disagree with your comments about the cashiers, it seems like you are generalizing some bad experiences you've had to every other cashier out there. I understand being rude, that's annoying, but no personality? I can't show people my personality within one minute of talking to someone. Customers usually just want to get their groceries and get out.

You'd be amazed how cashiers say the same thing about customers [cont]

  • I agree, when I go to a supermarket, unless the self check out is JAM PACKED, I always go to the self checkout...I like to do things on MY SPEED, and I find that the checkout people are rude to the point of it becoming uncomfortable!

  • I so agree with you!

  • Yaaaay, iamglory hugs to you and your hubby!!!I amso glad to see you, I agree about rude employees, I am 50 next year and my gay ass will tell the clerk and demand top speak to their manager, I can't get away with that when I am at work nor would I shortchange my clients that way!! If people haveno people skills or bad people skills they need to work in a non-public job!! Again, so very very good to see you, hugs from Montana!

    Brian

  • A point, but one I'd disagree with. Many checkout clerks do have personality.
