In 1999, the band recorded a demo entitled FullMoon in Kemi's Tico Tico Studios, which was their first real metal recording. The line-up consisted of vocalist and keyboardist Tony Kakko, guitarist Jani Liimatainen, bassist Janne Kivilahti and drummer Tommy Portimo. The demo was sent to Spinefarm Records by a friend of the band and a recording deal soon followed. Among the songs in the demo, one was entitled "Full Moon". The song is said to have been written about the trauma of a girl when she finds out her boyfriend is a werewolf. The lyrics suggest he tries to flee, but she follows him and is accidentally killed by him. This song would later be redone and can be heard on the albums "Ecliptica", "Songs of Silence", and "For the Sake of Revenge".

If you would like a download of this song, just ask me and I'll get back to youi as soon as possible.

  • @ChainGuN2 By this point they were actually called Sonata Arctica, they recorded this almost straight after.

    T-- Tony?

Damn, you can hardly tell that's him.

  • love keeping on listen to this to understand the little vocal differences... tony is such a powerful signer and has a wonderful voice...

  • I love this demo.. shows how talented they were.. some of them were practically kids when this was released.. and you can still tell tony is on the keyboards.. and I agree they didn't change much from this version to the current version

  • this is the best demo ever created, so professional :X

  • Thanks for sacrifice yourself uploading these relics and allow us to enjoy them!!

  • @Klauspicy I think he knows what he's doing. Only what he wants to do, is not what some fans wants to hear. But there's no way to please everyone, and the most important thing is that they play what they want to. A band that keeps doing something they're tired of, only because it's popular, is a dead band.

  • EPIC!!!!!, nothing more to say

  • @Ryak1234 Yeah maybe that's just my thought :(

I was disappointed with days of grey and Unia.. Some of the songs like 'Paid in Full' is amazing, but some songs I think Tony was like he didn't know what he was doing lmao..
