@NIStreakz Jury nullification, the centuries-old tradition whereby the People themselves have a say in how the law is applied.

The People, represented by a jury, are tasked with judging the law as well as the facts. So, if someone breaks a law, but the jury considers the law to have been wrong, they nullify the law and let the accused go.

The courts hate this, but of course the courts exist for the People, not the other way around.

Jury nullification is what killed alcohol prohibition.

Julian Heicklen, who was charged with jury tampering for handing out pamphlets on jury nullification, has now been charged by the Assistant U. S. Attorney with "distributing literature without a permit, a violation of a Homeland Security regulation."

You get the significance of this, right?

@hypnofan35 I have to say I'd be more excited about a gas pneumatic hybrid than about a gas/electric hybrid. Steam engines impress me but I don't know all the possibilities there. I often have gotten to see the old ones operating at antique farm machinery shows. They also have lots of miniature steam engines, made by hobbyists with enough time to enjoy making them. I'd like to see videos of breakthroughs.
