TomatoFare 2009 is all about the food and growing Heirloom Tomatoes.
Part 2 highlights the Chefs, the food and Grupo Samay.
Chefs Chris and John Hussey from Two Brothers Northwest Catering prepared a variety of tastings made with fresh heirloom tomatoes as the not-so-secret ingredient.
John and Chris have both worked with food all of their careers. John started as a fry Cook at the local Dairy Queen, Chris as a Grocery Clerk as Produce Manager at a local grocery. Both graduated from Omak High School in 1990. Chris and John attended Le Cordon Bleu Las Vegas Culinary Institute in 2006 and became accredited Chefs. Both graduated with high marks. John with Honors Cum Laude. Chris has worked at such fine dining establishments as Black Mountain Grill (Las Vegas), Viaggio's (Las Vegas), Red Rock Country Club (Las Vegas) where he and John both completed the Externship requirement of their degree. John became a Banquet Chef at Red Rock Country Club.
Both reside in Soap Lake and work at Griffins's Bakery and Cafe in Moses Lake where Chris was promoted to Executive Chef and John is the Baker.

Chefs Chris & John operate Two Brothers Northwest Catering out of Soap Lake, WA. Both brothers share a passion for good food, folk, and entertainment in general. They don't have customers: they have Guests. They feel that is an important distinction.

Chefs Tony Davis and Amy Simonson from The Seasonal Kitchen brought their scrumptious tastings to this years TomatoFare 2009.
Chefs Tony Davis and Amy Simonson have been cooking in the Pacific Northwest for a combined 15 years.
Tony worked at such respected establishments as Palisades and Seastar Restaurant, where he met Amy. They later both worked at the Stumbling Goat Bistro in Seattle, which opened their eyes to the beauty of locally harvested foods.
Both chefs have spent time at Quillisascut Farm School in Rice, Washington, and they share a commitment to sustainability. These experiences motivated them to start The Seasonal Kitchen, a farm-focused food service operation based in the Wenatchee Valley.
Through The Seasonal Kitchen, Tony and Amy get to work with produce at its peak, provided by amazing, dedicated local farmers.
Chefs Tony & Amy prepare regional, seasonal dishes for local food events, farm dinners, farmers markets, catered events, and public and private classes.

Guests, growers and participants will enjoy excellent wines, special tastings by attending chefs, and experience up to 100 different varieties of heirloom tomatoes.
General admission tickets for the 2009 TomatoFare® are $20 in advance; $25 on the day of the event and will be limited to 300 guests to ensure a quality experience for all.
Early ticket purchase is recommended since the event is expected to sell out. Children under the age of 12 with attending parent are admitted free-of-charge. Tickets are available through White Heron info@whiteheronwine.com.
