Hitting that first corner at the beginning to go backwards is pretty tricky, as there's only a few points where it works. Plus the points where you can jump off is pretty limited, if you're too far down you'll fall short. If you're too high up you'll also fall short, plus the too short and too long points are really easy to hit so you mess up, just practice it a bit and you'll get it eventually.
