This Is Why CELL PHONE Use While DRIVING Should Be ILLEGAL

On March 2004, in Corpus Christi, the driver of the car was talking on a hand-held cell phone. She ran a stop light and hit a cyclist. The cyclist was seriously injured and had to be air lifted to the local hospital.

I originally uploaded this video clip on my personal web page, back in 2004. It has been copied and uploaded on numerios web-sides, including YouTube. My original clip is longer, but I edited down for my YouTube page.

And is it a blessing! I was just cycling the other day and I saw someone walking while talking on her cell and she was weaving back and forth like she didn't know which sidewalk button to push. Now, if she was in a car...

Seriously, driving while talking on your cell should be banned worldwide.

Btw, I take the sidewalk when I cycle. I don't care if it's illegal; I like being alive.

most if not all cell phones have gps, what they should do, and im all for this, is disable phones while moving at more then 15 mph.. only thing you can see is caller id so you know whether u should pull over or not. its the only real way to force people not to be on the phone while driving

It's illegal in Canada but everyone still does it...I see it all the time....and it's not just teens....I see alot of middle-age to older women.

@mattxr2i yes,if you are caught using a cell phone here in Italy,you get a 148-594€ fine and you lose five points...if you are caught again during a period of two years,your license can be suspended from one to three months.

It is not illegal to use a hand held cell phone while driving, but is illegal in some USA towns to text while driving.
