Same here with my S2000 but alot less severe... First thoughts were either the timing chain tensioner or the valves needed adjusting so I went the cheaper route and adjusted the valves which took care of most the noise, now it only does it for like a second on start-up... I haven't looked at the tensioner yet but I think its hydraulic so if its low on oil it might also do that as well
My s2k was making the same noise, but not quite as loud. It turned out that the timing chain tensioner needed to be replaced. That seems to be a fairly common problem...luckily not that expensive to fix. Have you fixed it yet, and if so was that what was wrong with it?
from here, via the computer, all I hear is injectors
