Now this is the best video ever seen.
-
This one is so realistic...It captures the real aspect of how those so-called friends are.

Are the subtitles what he is thinking, or what his "friends" are thinking? From a schitzo affective person that wonders what being open and honest about my illness does do my friendships.

brill.

"Human traffic" had a scene like this where two guy hated each other yet they spoke politely.
-
thats why i do not tell anyone about being crazy till iv known them at least 6 months...maybe even a year. That way they know me, not a crazy guy.
-
Haha the subtitles made me lol.
-
That was fab! I'm mentall ill, and suffer stigma in everyday life, even from so called professionals!

AWESOME VIDEO

Good video, but this issue is more complex than to be explained in just one statement. Insensitivity is an issue that schizophrenia can worsen, just like any other weakness or disadvantage. It's important to look at the big picture and put things in perspective so that one can improve their quality of life.

brilliant

Listen to the song " In your mind" by andrew gerbasi feat. steve morrison. It has an amazingly special meaning. I know its a great song!!!!!!!!!! have a listen
-
this was a really good video! are there any more videos like this?
-
I just love this commercial...it portrays so well the labels people put on others who are struggling with things that they just don't understand, and judge them by. NO one with mental health issues derserves to be judged.

Paranoia is caused by fear that was fertilzed with traumatic events in which a person believes everyone is "watching them or out to get them".
-
@bcssprov I know. I was only joking *shrug*

Ha i love this!.. god people suck XD.. makes fun of how ignorant and fake most "normal" people are. People like this make me feel complemented when they call me a societal freak ;)
-
People's reactions with this are just like with someone who has a facial injury. "Normal" people cringe & shy away..
Afraid as if would happen to them somehow. Its more like a instinctual reaction they cannot help then a vicious attack though.
Its better not to tell them, as adorable as normals are they just arn't strong enough to handle real life

Buy "Explaining colours to a blind man". This will
enlighten many about living with mental illness.
-
this is great, I am a psych student and haven't personally dealt with mental illness, but I empathize so much with people who do, because they don't just suffer the illness itself, but the horrible stigma even from friends and family. People are more and more politically correct about so many things, but mental illness is still taken way more lightly by the general public than it ought to be.
-
My 21 year old friend has just been diagnosed with schizophrenia, this is a real eye opener
-
lol
-
this is brilliant, the guy with schizophrenia sees through the layers. lies are the real disease.
-
If I truly understand what you mean by "psychomedia" then it is what I say about college textbooks about mental illness, another source of stigma...thats why I say "abnormal psychology" should be "recovery psychology"
Very effective video. We like it.
Ah, probably an overly-inappropiate joke there...

@TalonWolf It's actually a really common misunderstanding about schizophrenia. When a person has multiple personalities, the medical term is Dissociative Identity Disorder, which is completely unrelated to schizophrenia. DID is caused by intense early childhood trauma. Schizophrenia is caused by a combination of genetics and environment (stress, drugs, injury, illness). A person with Sz has only one personality.
