http://www.PillarsOfYoungevity.com 1st Pillar of Longevity: Dr. Jonny Bowden explains the first pillar of Longevity (Food) and how the right foods can greatly increase your lifespan.
In my practice I've seen people in their 30s with degenerative joint disease and have seen 80 year olds with minimal to none. So to say paleo man didn't live long enough is nonsense. Paleolithic man didn't have houses, cars and bikes. They worked hard hunting and gathering daily and lived the hard life of survivors. So they were subject to more injurious forces that drive most osteoarthritis today. Prior to grains, sugar and farming, cancer, diabetes, stroke and heart disease hardlyexisted.
I agree our modern diets and lifestyles are awful for our health, but there is an error in the reasoning here as it has been suggested that the reason they didn't die of our degenerative diseases is simply because they didn't live long enough to get them in the first place. As our age span increases, the incidents of old age diseases is increasing. Having said that, there is much we can do to reduce this in old age and live even longer and healthier in old age today.
