Zakarij is a 2006 Florida State University graduate. His degrees are in French and Music, with piano as his principle instrument. His college piano study was with Professor Leonard Mastrogiacomo.
He is a 2006 FSU Fulbright award winner.
Zakarij is an enthusiast of 20th Century Music, and also has as a keen interest in French Romanticism. Because of this, Zakarij has developed an extensive repertoire of French piano works for solo piano, including relatively unknown composers such as Camille Saint-Saëns, Paul Dukas and Francis Poulenc.
He is also a 2002 Naples Music Club Piano Competition finalist, for the Senior Piano Division.
Artwork: A photo taken of the painting "Before The Concert" by artist Francis Donald. Most of Donald's interior paintings have some kind of musical theme-he came from a family of pianists and he himself was an accomplished pianist. This work is graciously offered by Dr. Edwin and Marlene Lyons, who own this marvelous painting. It is used with full permissions.
The Piano is a Yamaha Concert series C6 grand piano.

actually is it okay to play with una corda? because my teacher advised me to play it more blurry with some mysterious feel.
but after i listen to a number of version of this piece, i'm confused..
actually which is the best way/sound to interpret this piece?
anybody can help me? i'm going to perform this piece for my dipLCM soon~

@anggeline2045 Are you referring to the piece as a whole, or just the beginning notes? For the first note, I would make a suggestion: Do not use the Una Corda - I don't think it that is what is intended. Instead, I would endeavor to use an Anticipatory Pedal; depressed just before the first note is struck. Best wishes to you in your performance, and enjoy your Debussy.
