Oh yeah, did I make sure to mention that I'm prone to crazy long strings of matches? Seriously, the only thing that made me stop playing was a technical disruption on ChugokuAru's end.
I did feel rather uneasy subjecting someone else to ridiculously long hours of playtime, but I felt almost as uneasy thinking that if she wanted to keep playing, I was still also up for more. (Way to pass the buck and dodge responsibility, Joou!)
Let's see how much my memory may have faded since playing these...or even after having written the descriptions for the other two uploads thus far...
---
Match #1 -- Yatterman's Workshop
Chun-Li and Ken the Eagle (FWENDERP)
vs.
Batsu and Joe the Condor (MS.MUTOU)
That breathing room gives me the chance to play with more Bird Missiles than I deserve. They're not toys! Get permission before firing!
---
Match #2 -- Washinkyo, Amehon
Silver Lightan (FWENDERP)
vs.
Ippatsuman and Ryu (MS.MUTOU)
Oh my. Of all the characters to have to fight when using a giant, Ippatsuman is NOT one of them. It's quite difficult to get too many hits out of the multiball Grand Slam Hyper Combo...except against giants. Oh boy are they an inviting target, huh? Plus, between it and Ryu's Shinku Hadoken, giant characters who fail a block will be in serious danger of being staggered.
I actually find that if you miss the initial block window as a giant, you're still free to move around, but you won't be able to block at all...so then your only hope at that point is to hit the enemy if they're not too far away, and chances are that a wary duo will pick up some safe distance before executing a projectile Hyper Combo.
---
Match #3 -- Galactor Base
Silver Lightan (FWENDERP)
vs.
Gold Lightan (MS.MUTOU)
If I remember correctly, a lot of my repetitive attacking was because the input for Gold Lightan's Gold Press command throw had eluded me somehow. It's a full circle forward motion followed by an attack, by the way. I believe I was only doing a half circle a la Frank West or Morrigan's command throws instead, so I got the Tank Slice hand sweep.
---
Match #4 -- Wasteland
Yatterman-2 and Batsu (FWENDERP)
vs.
PTX-40A (MS.MUTOU)
When the giants come out to play, they come out in force! ...contrary to the showing up not at all, since they're only possible to draw randomly on the first character selection. You obviously can't get Gold Lightan or PTX-40A if you've already got a "small" character awaiting another teammate to pair up with.
I'm always forgetting the particulars of PTX's specials beyond the rushing tackle and the chainsaw, because they're directional "charge" attacks. I also know that the mounted guns are dictated by quarter circles, but which one is the front and which one is the back gun often eludes me until I guess one way or the other.
This is important because the rockets are of rather notable significance, since they're unblockable...and more importantly, the Arsenal Barrage will multiply the number fired. Without any rockets, the Arsenal Barrage is pretty lackluster, however.
---
Match #5 -- Wasteland
Polimar and Jun the Swan (FWENDERP)
vs.
Viewtiful Joe and Roll (MS.MUTOU)
Joe is fun and full of flashy moves...although I can't really seem to figure how Desperado is supposed to hit if the Six Machine takes so long to charge up. I also always confuse the inputs for Mach Speed and Slow and Zoom Hyper Combos, so I actually try not to rely on them too much either...particularly if trying to initiate a Mach Speed can easily be mis-input as a Desperado, leaving Joe hanging un-Viewtifully. (Ouch!)
Consequentially, I just happen to be a bum that knows how to make Shocking Pink and Voomerang a little more annoying than they already are...and that's about it.
I just can't think of anything else to do with his stubby little arms and legs, particularly if I'm possessed of enough clarity of mind to realize that overusing the Red Hot Kick isn't a good idea. (If only that same level-headedness applied to my use of the likes of Ken the Eagle or Batsu Ichimonji...)
Also, don't forget that you've got bombs stuck to you even if you block all of Jun's yo-yo strikes in her Hyper Combo. Oops!
---
Match #6 -- Daigo Temple (Moonlight)
Ryu and Batsu (FWENDERP)
vs.
Batsu and Morrigan (MS.MUTOU)
What mor can I say that I didn't already on the last video in this series? I'm a pretty lousy Morrigan. At least I manage to get off a Vector Drain...for whatever only one of them is worth, anyhow.
Fortunately, Batsu is more than willing to step up as a beginner-friendlier alternative. I think it's a crime that I keep making poor Batsu whiff his spirited United by Fate startup attack, though. I've no doubt that I would've unrepentantly tried to do it again myself if another crazed schoolyard justice vigilante hadn't shown up to stop me.
I like how in the first match, Yatterwan just decided to leave the garage. I guess he was getting bored.
PTX-40A is just some guy in a giant robot, right? Despite the serious look to it, it holds its chainsaw up in joy when it wins.
Oh, you can shove the Shocking Pinks around with Voomerangs? I gotta try that in UMvC3.
Overhazard 3 months ago
@Overhazard Yeah, by my understanding, the PTX-40A is just a regular (albeit advanced) "Vital Suit" mecha with a pilot and everything.
Yeah, I don't know why it occurred to me, but if you can attack Shocking Pinks, why not try to hit them with a projectile that doesn't dissipate on first impact with something. A word of caution: as Shocking Pink L has too short a fuse, it will blow up in your face while readying the Voomerang L... but the M and H Shocking Pinks are fair game to play with.

Finally got my own copy of this game and I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble with Viewtiful Joe. I'm still getting used to the controls by themselves, but I feel like I mix up his Hyper Combos more than anything. I still think you did well with him though, especially with the bombs and Voomerang.
Is Silver Lightan any different than his Gold counterpart?

@strategist9 Very nice!
I was curious how much TvC sold for now, what with two editions of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 out, but it ran about the same as the original MvC3. It is true that there's no other vs. Capcom action on the Wii, so they can get away with it, I guess.
Silver Lightan is exactly the same, functionally...but I think it's really cool that he's referred to as "Silver Lightan" on the select screen, and he calls out all his moves as "Silver" instead of "Gold."
SILVER FINGER CRASH!
