I'm playing through Silent Hill 2! No, really. I am this time. This is generally considered the best of the series, featuring a fantastic story with a pretty gnarly twist.

  • SH2 the best of the series? I'd have to disagree there. Once you figure out pretty much all the monsters completely ignore you if you turn off your flashlight/radio, just becomes an extended game of Bop-A-Mole. The game's ok, the story and gameplay are otherwise decent. But once you learn that, you can't really call it a survival horror game anymore.

Also Tien did Solar Flare, saved Goku's life a couple times.

  • @Blakobness SH2 is pretty much the best, yeah. The story is the reason to play Silent Hill. Let's be serious nothing is scary about these games anymore. Out of the original games, this IS the most disturbing, not because you avoid enemies by turning off a radio, who would do that anyway? Break the game pretty much. Shambling random monsters was never the point of silent hill, been avoiding them since Silent Hill 1.

  • I always thought that SH2 and SH4 were the best of the series. Gotta love crazy James and Anti-Social Henry! :D

  • @JLAndersen01 I can't wait to get to Anti-Social Henry, that game is perhaps my favorite. Though a lot of people hate it...not really understanding as to why.

  • 5:55:19 is not 5 and a half hours sir. but thanks for playing silent hill again! im so hype now!

  • @TJhandford524 Oh man, this playthrough is a doozy. Makes me remember how much I love this game. Just a great time.

  • Was that mannequin... bleeding?

  • @lordofultima Right now the games aren't scary, yes. But at the time, they were probably the best in the survival horror series. Knowing that you could just turn off your radio and be perfectly fine just deflated most of the reason to play the game, for me. It's hard to ignore an option when it stares you in the face throughout the entire game. The story on it's own didn't support the game, in my opinion, even though it did have good story. Still finished it regardless.

Yeah I can really careless if its there or its not there. But yeah if you can get your hands on one of them they work REALLY good. I have no idea on how to obtain one but Radio Shack might have a PS2 to USB. I also did some digging around and found if you google search "ps2 controller to usb converter" there are a few good hits for converters.

  • @SA8TER21 I turn off all vibration anyway, force feedback is such useless and distracting technology.
