Great lesson. Keith Urban was in the video for Mercury Blues. You will only see him for a few seconds at the beginning of the guitar solo. He had longer hair. But it was in fact Brent Mason that played guitar on that song.

Isn't this Keith Urban playing the original solo on this song?

Nice job - please keep them coming - great ears!

Excellent video. I could only figure out bits of it myself - your video really helps. Thanks again.

really great lesson ....!! thx for posting ... fabulous !!.

Excellent lesson on this cool solo. You are right. Not many people seem to have
tackled this particular solo. I liked your style in showing this. Great job dude!

This is one of the best country solo guitar lessons on the web, even better than a lot of videos I've bought because you explain the rationale behind notes choices, and how and why it contributes to the country sound. This is really great thanks for doing it. When I first learned this solo it was a revelation because I started to think of soloing in terms of chord shapes and numbers rather than scales and note names. If you want to get behind what country soloing is about this is a great start.
No, most definitely *not* Urban.
For one, he was never a studio player in Nashville, two, this was recorded
long before Urban showed up on the scene. Three, it's been well documented that it is Mason.
Four, it is Mason's tone and playing style, five, Alan Jackson was known to specifically request Brent Mason, and Brent Mason only.
Thanks for all the compliments. i'm going to be doing another video soon. I promise. I had a major loss in my family right after I did this video.
