Germany was flat broke after WW1! Where did Hitler get the money to develop a huge military force while in a complete depression? Who paid for all the steel, tanks, planes, cars, supplies, gas? "Germany was going to win that war" My World War 1 history isn't as good as my World War 2 history, but I'm pretty sure the Naval Blockade that was placed on Germany caused widespread starvation and protest. Over 700,000 people died of starvation if I remember correctly. The Blockade was still being placed on Germany even after 1918, helping the Allies force Germany into signing the Treaty of Versailles. If I'm wrong correct please anyone.
