Two Launches of experimental 7' 4" rocket one on sat. one on sunday..this rocket has flown many times previous without any engine issue. On these two back to back flights, however, both engines CATO,ed blowing unburned fuel out the back, On saurday';s launch, it seems the iginiter went up with the rocket, then tried to spit it out, only to get clogged in the nozzle throat, causing an over pressure and subsequent nozzle ejection. A loud bang was heard 1 second into the flight..The rocket had enough velocity to coast to a safe apogee and chute ejection...The next day sunday, a loud bang was heard less than a half second after liftoff! The rocket was much lower and the altimeter, which was programed to disregard the first 5 seconds, naturally didn't get to go off..and the rocket went straight into the ground...ouch! The fin and fin can survived at least. The PVC glue did not 'weld' the nozzle parts together it seems, I have since switched to blue glue and use a longer coupling.

  • Wonderful!

  • Great rockets, a cato is always spectaculaer though, was it the K-450 engine you used? 5* work
