I recently flew from Canada to Europe on a brand new Cessna Citation Mustang;
I recorded the InterTurbineTemperature changes during some of the starts.

  • hello, I'm a test cell operator in Montreal, working on the PW610 family engine since its conception. Its the first time I see a video of the 615 on the actual aircraft :) I know how the engine works in the test cell, but not much on the plane itself. I see that on the last start of the right engine, the ITT rises at the same time on the left engine, is it because of the use of its generator ?? cross feed or something like that ?

  • Hi, fellow P&WCer (I am retired now, but a few years ago I was the PW615 Engine Designer); yes, you got it right. The Mustang battery only has enough juice for little more than one start. The right engine, therefore, is started getting power from the left engine's generator which, of course, loads up the engine itself.

  • Wow thouse 300 amp starters really show on the MFD! Was the little music added in or is that part of the G1000s FADEC startup?

  • The little music was actually a cell phone ring; the coversation that followed can also be heard

  • This is a MUCH cooler (temperature) start than the PW305A. This one peaked at 615C, and I typically see around 790C-825C on the 305.

  • well well, small world :) see you later :)

  • beautiful! ... the computer sounds remembers me a mac =P

  • Great video and airplane ! Hopefully in 2 years I will have the chance to hear this beautiful sound daily.

  • List price is under 3 million USD; actual, with some necessary options, is between 3.2and 3.5. As you said it is a beautiful machine

  • Interesting for pilots and experts... not for "normal" youtube users... but I enjoyed it!
