That was brilliant. Whoever wrote that is a genius.

I loved the exchange "between you, me and the world" and her response "leave the world out of it" because something can only be between two things!

@ramseybrospictures Well...I'm not saying they couldn't have been. Just very, very unlikely. Melissa ranked 875th in popularity among girls' names in the 'teens and didn't start gaining till the '40s. See, Google doesn't play favorites.

Nobody in 1940 was named "Melissa."

"MELISSA
Gender: Feminine
Usage: English, Greek Mythology, Ancient Greek
Other Scripts: Μελισσα (Ancient Greek)
Pronounced: mə-LIS-ə (English) [key]
Means 'bee' in Greek. This was the name of a nymph that cared for young Zeus in Greek mythology. It is also the name of the fairy who helps Rogero escape from the witch Alcina in Ludovico Ariosto's poem 'Orlando Furioso' (1516). As an English given name, Melissa has been used since the 18th century."
Google is your friend, dude.

slight overkill on the come back (not a bad thing) but complete ownage!!!
(so did you know this when you chose the name or did you just get lucky)

I (R.R.) wrote the reply, my brother (J.R.) wrote the script. While I didn't know the name's history at the time of shooting, I figured, and trusted my brother enough to assume, that the name hadn't been invented in the last 60 years.
I suppose it was overkill, huh? Thanks for watching and commenting!

I (J.R.) looked up both names just before shooting the script. But, I am sure there are plenty of anachronisms in the film.

@ramseybrospictures Can't understand why he mentions them swimming the channel. Also can't make out what he says at 1:22 to 1:24. Any help?
MrKoshak 3 weeks ago
@MrKoshak He's mentioning it, I guess, because they have some memory together in the english channel. But really he's mentioning it so he can confuse "swam" and "swum." At 1:22 he says, "We were in a daze; love is a daze if you do it right." That's in response to her saying "That doesn't sound right." -- she is saying his use of "swum" doesn't sound right, but he thinks she doesn't remember. OVEREXPLAINING HEREBY CONCLUDED.
