I have the same engine and the same frigging sound FUCK
-
I mean I just drive to 120mph and that is not the top speed. I am from 0-120 mph in 25 seconds. Just let the car roll a bit and yes Faster then a Golf V GTI turbo with 200 HP

I have another Fiat Coupe 2.0 16v where the belt is hitting the belt cover with a ticking sound which is very very anoying.
First I think No that is the end of the engine. But infact it was nothing bad. Think the tensioner was just locked a bit. Because I didnt drive it for 4 to 5 months.
Now its ok again and it goes very very fast. Only problem the exhaust manifold is broken.
So its kinda sport sound and lack of power but still enough tough easily 120 MPH no problem. Fast car

I heard the sound 1 year ago then I dont know how but it went away.
Now 1 year later I hear it again
I know what it is. If you drive very fast and pull up all the time then the engine gets very hot and the bearings like the one on the balance shaft get very hot. So it is just overheating a bit.
when you drive normal and let it heat up normal then it will go away again.
until your bearing is worn out completely. But its no big deal.

Yes. It's badly bearing for tensioning belt on balance shafts.
