American hegemony politically and military relies on Israel to have some deterrence towards resistance in the Middle East. Israel provides that at a HUGE cost to the US tax payer when the Arabs will gladly sell the Americans as much oil as they want as at a fair price. The Americans do not need to bomb civilians and at the same time allowing the Israelis to commit atrocious crimes on the Palestinian people to achieve their goals
