Even though you're retired now from International rugby keep training hard Jonny. Maybe one day you'll be as good as Dan Carter.

@garth04 Or perhaps he picks up injuries because he plays a contact sport?
Gobbing off? You mean sound coaching / training advice and encouragement?

Brutal but effective workout. Some interesting comments from below - Steve's introducing a lot of plyometric, compound and proprioceptive exercises that are wholly appropriate to Jonny's sport.
I guess some of the comments bemoaning his technique come from bodybuilder types who look at "cosmetic" fitness, working on sarcoplasmic hypertrophy that builds size but has no function whatsoever. Wilko's a pure athlete who carries no excess weight.

that's why he's da best

go make your own workout video, and lets see it.

These training methods are old school. I mean...bicep curls...what is the rationale for them for the sport of rugby? All he is doing here is giving Jonny a hard circuit...not a circuit that will progress his athletic development. there is no quality or good coaching points in this. What matters is how you jump not just jumping. His technique is all over the shop

shit, this is intense
That 'fat bloke' is Steve Black, a world reknown fitness coach who has worked with Newcastle United Football Club, Sunderland Football Club. British and Irish Lions, Ireland and Newcastle Falcons. He has developed ideas and principles that are implemented in today's modern game. He may be fat, but he is good.
