"It's a Shame" The Spinner Presented by KOOL 105, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, @ The Taste of Colorado end-of-summer celebration for community pride and spirit in the Denver Colorado, region. http://www.atasteofcolorado.com/

This song co-written by Stevie Wonder, Syreeta Wright and Lee Garrett and produced by Wonder as a single for The Spinners on Motown's V.I.P. Records label.

The single became the Detroit-reared group's biggest single on the Motown Records company since they had signed with the company in 1964 and also their biggest hit in a decade.

The song, which is about a man who complains about a lover's "messin' around" on him, became a huge hit for the group reaching number-fourteen on the Billboard Hot 100 and number-three on the R&B singles chart, making it their biggest hit to date. The song was the first song Wonder produced for another act by himself.

  • It's a shame...that my younger generation doesnt appreciate or make music like this!

  • great song

  • @Sirgreaseflick Mr. Bell gave them that PHILLY SOUL touch, and the rest is history!!!!

  • These guys kicked Motown's butt once Mr Bell stepped up to the plate - actually It's A Shame was cowritten and produced by Stevie Wonder, core members Bobbie Smith, Billy Henderson, etc. Phillippe Wynne proved them all wrong when he slipped in the Spinners soul pocket. Do yourselves a favour: buy the Spinners The Definitive Soul Collection, double-disc C.D put out by Atlantic/Rhino: 30 SOUL-Hugging classics. Purify yourself. It would be a shame not to.

  • Fabulous Spinners Hit!!!

Your music and performances will always live on in my mind forever......

The world will always love you here on earth and in Heaven above.....

  • When you all going to come to Michigan!

  • One of the greatest songs ever! I never realized it was written by Stevie Wonder!
