  • What an inspiring story!!! Thank you for sharing and you are a very resourceful person!! Unfortunately I had medication that wasnt working that wasnt working for a very long time, I honestly dont think the doctor I had was all that great...however intervention was had when I gave up hope on medication and quit taking it or would go to the walk in clinic and get zoloft and haldol and that was it. I was diagnosed 14 years ago. I have had a new doctor the past two years and am stable now!!!

  • @CameronMalnofski069 - thank you very much for your comments -- I am glad that things are going better for you! regards...

  • Inspiring video. thanks.

  • @edertwins - thank you!

  • Ted, very well done !! Great recovery. I was diagnosed in my forties too. After many episodes, I have read all I can and am charting mood and energy levels daily. A great self help book is 'MInd Mapping' by Dr Liz Miller (a fellow bipolar) I have just been on a wellness recovery action planning (WRAP) course and the trainer has asked me if I am interested in becoming a trainer !! After watching your story, I feel like I may be strong enough to take on this challenge !!

  • Not to undermine what you are saying, but don't discount your own feelings and automatically believe your doctor. TOo many people take a doctor's word as the gospel. I am a counselor and I work with many doctors. They are no different then anyone else and they are wrong a lot of times. I am NOT referring to your illness, I am saying this as a general statement.

  • Very well done. I especially agree with the tools you recommend and the emphasis on educating yourself as a patient to communicate more clearly with doctors. Unfortunately, they many don't realize they need to work harder at understanding.

I somewhat agree with some comments that imply you are the sane one in a crazy world. I am myself in search of a diagnostic line between between unique patterns of behavior vs illness. With the symptoms, come some insight. Life is good.

  • You're sane. Your culture is not. "It is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society."(Jiddu Krishnamurti) Don't let them drug, silence or convince you that you're the problem. Look at indigenous, shamanic communities and the low instance of "mental illness". See how peaceful they are. They work less than sixteen hours a week. They eat real food that doesn't mess up their brains and bodies. In those cultures, you would be seen as a chosen one. Here, you are not seen.

  • I think this is an excellent video to show people who are battling bipolar disorder for them to understand how to approach their limitations and solve their problems. This man is hella brave, it takes a lot of courage to expose your mental condition to everyone! Very inspirational, great job and thank you for posting this!

  • That music was annoying.

  • I always thought it was what it has ALWAYS been known as....a middle age crisis. Now you can take medication for it??

TRANQUILIZING yourself solves nothing. SOLVE the problem...don't mask it. Depression for life? Of course, drugs for life...it's huge business. You want to research? Try researching the CORE of your depression. FIND the truth. WHY are you depressed? SOLVE the problem.
