That's why it sells for allot, people are buying the pleasure of having one a kind thing that someone took weeks or months of their life to create. It's a piece of their life hanging on your work, and a piece of your life sitting in their bank accounts.

If the objects are referencing a photograph and the objects are actual belongings and things that relate to the person in the portrait, where is the point of departure where the artist is revealing something that we never knew. It seems the fascination is all bound within the likenesses the objects produce. After that there isnt anything else to learn or explore. perhaps the audience can continually be fascinated by the likeness. To me it seems like a 3 dimensional trick.
