This hive was queenless for about two weeks. It was honey bound, had no brood, and even had a laying worker(s). The hive was superseding the queen when I bought the nuc (hence the two queen cells off the face of the comb) and I believe they killed the queen right after I installed the it. This hive was marked for death. However, I packed the nuc up this morning and swapped it out for another nuc from my supplier. That's one huge advantage from buying local!
