Pete Gagan on board. Paul Brodie with starter. Shot by Fiona (Pauls Sister)

The overhead cam Excelsior was the most outrageous American racing motorcycle built during the board track era. The originals were ordered destroyed in 1920 by heartbroken Excelsior boss Ignatz Shwinn following the death of ace factory rider Bob Perry on one of the machines. Perry was lapping at 20 mph faster than
any previous machine had travelled, and was exceeding well over 100 mph.
The "new" Excelsior has been fabricated from original photos and drawings, and is a faithful re-inactment of the original.

  • Excelsior Henderson! Now that's a real motorcycle! I rate it right up there with Indian, Pope, Curtiss, Cleveland and many other awesome American bikes. What was that other copy cat company in Milwaukee? You know, the one that tries so hard to make us all believe they are the only American bike that ever existed.

  • for your own good.pls sell yr bike to me cos your time is very near.who knows.

  • And I'm realy not trying to be an asshole,

    It's just I'm a history buff.

This kind of miss representation pisses me off as much as the

Plymoth Furry door hanging in The nascar hall of ame, as a Richard Petty Door,

When any nascar buff Knows he never drove a furrry built in that body style.

Fact of the matter? I was there in the shop when it was painted with the numbers

As a private bar display, for the guy who sold it to them.

    That type of crap.

    Twist's my tail!

  • When I drew it? it was as a tribute to the Peak of their Mechanical Skill, not as a disrespect, and never to be played off as thiers, Just to evoke the Spirit of the era, to be a respect. Never for the lie they are painting. I''m soory.

  • Maybe I shouldn't have re-drawn them.

God forgive me for giving snakes a chance to wroung the dead.

  • It killed His Friend, Killed the dream, don't ever Disrespct the Ledgend!

    EVER!

Don't die on it, the other mman the real driver? Did.

  • All photos, but one, and it dosnt show the engine and valve attatchments, where Destroyed Along with the original bike and all it's poatterns burned The Driver was His Oscars, personal friend He Blamed him self for the death because others warned it would be to fast, He built it it killed his best friend he Erased it, And left the company shortly after. The pattern you have? is a Replication thrue re-invention, not even based on documentation, only on an engineers best guess. My'n.

  • Bull shit, Thoughs patterns came froma book I left in california,

Patterns marked Fire Drop Technoogies Richard W. Foisel

    Drawn 2008.

    Thou shalt not lie.

    El Natham Qualam.
