How to Install a Flag Gear on a Brother TN-330 or TN-360

The TN-330 and TN-360 cartridges have a flag gear which tells the printer if a cartridge is new. If your cartridge doesn't already have this gear installed (as is the case with some starter cartridges), you will need to install one yourself. Let this be your guide!

I just covered the sensors on both sides of the cartridge and it worked. No need to instal the flag gear at this stage.

my brother H L 2170w does not have the flag gear refill. how to do now ?

FANTASTIC! What a lifesaver! I knew about the black tape trick, but it didn't work on my MFC-7440 printer with a TN-360 cartridge. This saved the day! My cartridge had a flag, but not quite the same as you showed. However, the general principle was the same and I could figure it out. THANKS!

The video was too far away. You should of had close up stills of the positions and orientations of the gears to make it first rate. Good instruction though!
