R44 Engine start up and take off

Francis is starting up the R44.

Take off from Meaux-Esbly (LFPE), destination Fontenai-Tresigny (LFPQ) for lunch at airfield restaurant.

Shot on sunday 2008 5 11 with a digital camera. It was like 11:15 am.

A big thank you to Francis for this beautiful day out for a ride with the R44.

I love the gobs more power the 44 has over the R22.. He picked up into an easy hover/lift off at just over 16 inches of power!! Nice!! I remember pulling every bit of 24 inches just to sustain a hover with me, my instructor and just 16 gallons of fuel..
