At the start of the wreathlaying ceremony, an outstanding trumpettist plays the Last Post. After 1 minute silence he plays the Reveille
It really gives me gooseflesh how he plays it.

  • This might sound silly, and no disrespect meant, but nowadays, with Brits and Germans fighting and dying together in Afghanistan, the German flag should fly there too. The Germans who fought in WW2 were for the most part victims of Hitler. It's time to forgive them.

  • @kealyc Well said, they too were heroes to their own people and also victims of a madman. God bless them all who have fallen and still fall on the field of battle.

  • @mrpivoman Well said, and kealyc too!

  • I like it that Reveille follows the lament for the dead. Have to say that both are musically more interesting than the U.S.'s music, and i'm a proud citizen of the United States of America..

  • kwam bij surfen rememberance sunday toevallig bij deze clip uit. Heb al vaak "the last post" gehoord. Bravo

  • @IanBrameld All went well for me today 13-Nov-11 @ 11 am in Prestatyn Parish church and then again @ British Legion service @ 3pm - very touching, playing LP & R on both occasions..... ALMOST note-perfect, just one or two nervous fluffs, but nothing significant. It was a privelige, as I expected it to be and I'm already looking fwd to doing same next year... :-S

  • @jonesthephones Hope you didn't copy this version. One or two errors, sadly. I'm off now to play at village war memorial, 3:00 p.m. Hardest job of the year.

  • @kealyc fuck germany they started 2 world wars and killed over 100million people fuck them and there people if they were victims they wouldn't of tried to kill our soldiers and the freedom of the world not once but twice

  • Just checking out last-minute YT’s versions of Last Post & Reveille. I'm actually playing Last Post & Reveille myself, this coming Friday 11-Nov-11 and Sun 13-Nov-11 @ Prestatyn Parish Church, in North Wales. Haven't played it for about 25 years... so wish me luck. Tense and tear-jerking though it may be, it's always a great opportunity to pay a personal tribute and to encapsulate the thoughts of others present, as we pay our respects to those who gave and to those are no longer with us.

  • ....for some reason Last post seems a bit rushed. Well, there are different versions...they are all the same, but played differently.

  • Workers of all lands unite.

  • are there more than one reveille? as thats not the one i play, sounds good tho well played
