@Morethanl1f3 I played one through a legacy 212 for a while. Did me well. Loud enough for most gigs unmiced but most places around here have decent pas, you could run a 15watt combo and be fine if you have a decent sound guy.

wow this amp is pretty powerful just got it =] i like the fact how original marshall sound this has compare to any of the new model i mean its not mesa boogie or orange or anything but its really creamy i love the british gain driven sound =]

@Morethanl1f3 well of course it is not a mesa boogie!
But why would you ever want a mesa if you are a Marshall guy?
Ok, I've heard lots of guys that sound amazing with a Dual Rec but they don't work for me at all. Same with Stilettos. In fact, i hate them. I will not say a nice thing about Mesa's until I get to know Mark series. Orange are nice but again, not my taste. My favourite amps are the Marshall DSL head, the Peavey 5150 bias-modded, and of course, Soldano. They are beyond amazing.

hows the volume on this amp? Enough to do just gigs or stadiums?

@Morethanl1f3 Give it a cab or two, and it will do loud :-)

its an Aria excel.
well, a lot of good amps are single channel. the "test of a good amp" to me is how fast and clear it responds, its dynamics, bandwidth, how well you feel the string, and what it sounds like _in a band context_.
the 8100's clean sounds solid state. there's a cool 'snap' to it but overall it's quite shallow and doesnt give much feel in the string.
