Brake Check-NABI 60SFW

A random maintenance worker brake testing a 60ft NABI SFW transit coach. Check out the Neoplan 6Oft coach that makes a cameo appearance as it obviously is having some mechanical issues! Coach 538 (as you see speeding round the bus yard), just received a new set of brakes, and is being broken in on the test track. *NOTICE* there is a Newflyer D40HF sitting to the left just outta camera view. When that bus was in service during its last days in the fleet as the 400 series, it saw itself passed around like "a lady of the evening" between RTC/CAT and Laidlaw. Some way to be treated, especially since you were basically the backbone of the fleet back in late 91/early 92, and lasted until round 08! The Enviro 500 double decks replaced the NFI D40HF over time. Also notice in the background the arrival of the NFI DE41LFR's and the late 1980's Thomas built school buses. Those buses were on RTC property, but were not owned by the agency. The Clark County School District was leasing the spot from the RTC. These were retired long ago from regular student service from the school district, and were later renamed COW ( Classroom On Wheels), and hanging out with the CAT (Citizens Area Transit). CAT has since been rebranded as RTC Transit, which is the agency that owns the buses. For those who may not know the revolution of transit in Las Vegas, the first transit agency to start in the valley was Las Vegas Transit, which was rebranded in 1992 to Citizens Area Transit.

this was filmed at the beginning of the year. at that time coach 461 was with Laidlaw and was in the midst of being returned to Veolia, and no that coach was not pushing the Neoplan, but it made for an awesome shot, didn't it?

i'm not totally sure LVT was rebranded to CAT. i believe they were two different agencies with CAT being the survivor and receiving a few buses from LVT.
