This is in response to everyone asking how I make custom chocolate bars. With the help of computer graphics, a cricut expression, a model 10-B vacuform, glue and chocolate you can see how I do this. Enjoy!

  • Hi, Are you using the balsa wood to prop the item you're trying to mold or do you glue the lettering to the balsa wood? Would love to have a better view or step by step on that particular part of the video. I have a smaller vacumm machine that's not working for what I want. =( getting ready to send that one back and order the one you're using in the video

  • @ThePastryDiva - I use the balsa wood to create the main "body" of the chocolate - I paste the letters/shapes onto a thin sheet (usually paper) and use a small piece of tape to attach it to the balsa wood. When I'm done with the form, I separate the balsa wood shape from the paper and save them if I need them later. I usually use the same balsa wood shapes over and over (because I know how much chocolate that form takes). Hope this helps!

  • Hie,

Very funny video thanks for your imagination :)) ... I have a cricut expression, but it would be very very cool for me to have the other machine (VACUFORM PROCESS ??) because i like so much cooking to make a mold(sorry for my bad english, i'm french) ... do you know where I can buy it and what is the price ??? and the high impact polystyrene where i can buy it (even if it's in USA) ... and how many time can you use a same mold (Life expectancy)

Many thanks in advance for your help :))

  • @Emmaalem - That small Vacuform machine is one I got is from Delvies Plastics in Utah. I ordered it online at their online site. It costs around $1000. You can make your own for much less, but this one works really well. The High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) I got from them as well. The mold durability is based on materials of the mold. I use balsa wood and haven't had any molds go bad yet.

  • what was that printer thing you used

  • That is the Cricut Expression - It is a hobby level cutting machine available from many retailers including Wal-Mart and several craft stores.

  • yes, it helps. Thank you so much. Can you give me the dimentions of the piece of balsa you're using? It seems to be a sort of "universal" size. Like the way the wording fits. Time to dust off my Cricut. lol

  • Thanks for the great comments - sorry to say I don't take orders, but I'm glad you liked the video!

  • Fantastic Jeff!

  • wow how cool can i order some made ones
