Regarding retaining a strat tone, I feel it does with the Warmoth neck. I like strats but I always felt they could be better. The compound radius gives a smoother faster feel.
Fender was making 24 3/4 scale strats in the mid 80's That’s where I first got one. The only thing I didn't like about that strat was flat jumbo frets. I would say try a warmoth and I don't think you would be disappointed. But pick out 6100 frets for it if you really like to do alot of string bending.

Hello irock,
The tone changes more when going from an all maple neck to maple/rosewood neck. Yes, the bends are so much easier and since I have small hands I can play scales much quicker and faster than a regular strat neck. But bear in mind that the Warmoth neck also is compound radius going from a rounder feel at the first fret to the flatter at the 22nd fret. A standard strat neck is a radius of 9.5 radius, slight round.
