Using tools such as the polariscope, refractrometer, spectroscope, and microscope we are able to determine if stones are synthetic, genuine, or chemically enhanced.

  • Have you ever used a U.V. light to check the gems ? It does work to spot them in the dark when you hunt for them at night ! Also check for chips in glass they look like rings ! No Crystal structure to glass ! All glass look to perfect, Must look for the lattice in your gems ! That's the true beautiful symmetry of order that moves me :-) YES ! I collect rare gems stones like Phosphophyllite, very beautiful I can't help myself ! I get lost in every lattice point if you know what I mean :-)

  • Very beautiful indeed. But....Technical terms misused. No R.I. liquid used on the hemisphere. I didn't see a light source either. Glass is singly "refractive", not reflective. We would also use a dichroscope to see moderately strong pleochroism.

  • nyce tutorial thnx and u r so beautiful....
